Active Math Java
Activity DescriptionThis is an interactive math activity, intended for primary school children from 7 to 12 years or older children who need to improve their number skills. It responds to student performance and offers items designed to match their ability. The opening items are easy, but they quickly get harder if the student responds deftly. The student can select which math activity they prefer by selecting addition, subtraction, multiplication or division from the first dropdown box. The student can also elect to complete 5, 10, 15 or 20 items using the second dropdown box. It is ideal for home education, remote and distance education, remedial math tutoring, or just a bit of math practice, in the evenings, weekends or school holidays. Note of CautionThis educational software applet is in its earliest stage of development. The code may still contain errors, and it may not always work perfectly. Java Run Time Engine (JRE)You need the JRE installed on your computer to run this Applet. If you are using Windows Vista it should already be installed, but if you are using Windows XP or earlier you have to install it yourself. Click here for instructions and a link to download the file. If you don't have the JRE installed on your computer, you will just see a box where the Applet is supposed to be. Active Math CDA mature CD version of the software, with 25 activities, from the Number Strand of the Western Australian Math Curriculum, is available for sale here or on eBay. Click here to read more about it. Version InformationThis version of Active Math Java was first posted April 2009.
